Shillong is a hill station in the northeastern part of India and the capital of Meghalaya, which means “The Abode of Clouds”. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district.

Shillong was a small village until 1864, when it became the new civil station of the Khasi and Jaintia hills. It remained the summer capital of Eastern Bengal and Assam for many years. In 1874, on the formation of Assam as a Chief Commissioner’s Province, it was chosen as the capital of the new administration. An earthquake destroyed the city in 1897, necessitating its complete rebuilding. In January 1972, Shillong became the capital of the newly formed state of Meghalaya.

Why is ground water warm during winters and cool during summers?

Ground water is not warm or cold in winter or summer respectively….its atmosphere whose temp rise and fall during summer….but soil is bad conductor so tere is little change in temperature of ground water…..take an example….the air from your refrigerator or AC at 20°c makes you feel cool in summer which is 40°c and ground water at 30°c is also cooller but in winter which is at 5°c that all 20°c and ground water at 27°c makes you feel warmer even now ground water temperature is 3° lower compare to that of summer..

How is Gold Formed and How Did It Get Here?

It may surprise you to know that gold was never formed on earth. Almost all the gold that we are wearing on our person or storing in our safe at home – came from asteroids. There is far more gold sitting in the core of the earth than has ever been on the surface. That gold was generously donated by our sun. Over the billions of years, it took to form the earth, that gold along with most other metals given to us by the sun, has sunk to the magma core of our planet. There is enough gold in the center of the earth to cover the surface with a 1.5-foot-thick layer.

Another theory rising in popularity is that Gold is Created in Supernovas, gold is formed when 2 neutron stars collide, releasing an amazing amount of energy and creating the mass of Jupiter in gold.

In sanskrit Vasanta means spring and Panchami is the fifth day of the fortnight of waxing moon (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu month of Magh, January–February of English calendar.

Basant Panchami occurs when the vivid yellow blossoms of ripe mustard plants are in full bloom across rural India. Surprisingly, numerous spring flowers, including daffodils, are yellow everywhere over the world. Yellow spring flowers in India include marigolds (genda), night jasmine (sheuli), yellow Hyacinth, yellow lilies, and Forsythia shrubs. Therefore, yellow is the predominant colour of Basant Panchami, which, as the name implies, corresponds to the spring season.

On this day, Goddess Saraswati is worshipped to get enlightened with knowledge. Yellow is believed to be the favorite colour of the Goddess. Yellow-colored clothes are donned by people on this occasion while offering yellow flowers to the Goddess with a yellow tilak on their forehead. Yellow is also deeply associated with auspiciousness, wisdom, and teachers in India.
