  1. Afghanistan, news agency reports quoting sources have said that about 600 Taliban have been killed in Panjshir as fighting continued in the northeastern province. Afghan resistance forces said, more than 1,000 Taliban have been captured or surrendered themselves.
  2. Panjshir is the stronghold of the National Resistance Front, led by Ahmad Massoud, the son of late ex-Afghan commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, and ex-Vice President Amrullah Saleh, who had declared himself caretaker president.

How China clay (or kaolin) is made…?

It is a product of altered granite, which has been affected by an interaction of the groundwater with the feldspar minerals within the granite to form kaolinite.

It is a clay that comes from chemical weathering of rocks in hot and moist climates. The main mineral in it is kaolinite. Kaolin, also called china clay, soft white clay that is an essential ingredient in the manufacture of china and porcelain and is widely used in the making of paper, rubber, paint, and many other products. Kaolin is named after the hill in China (Kao-ling) from which it was mined for centuries.

Sarat Bose was arrested after the escape of Subhas the day before he was due to join as Cabinet Minister in the Fazlul Haq government. He was moved to jail in Mercara and then Coonoor where his health suffered.
