  1. Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry under its SANKALP programme has brought an initiative to fund a stipend for one thousand apprentices across Central Ministries for one year. The initiative has been developed so that the youth of the country benefit by learning hands-on skills by way of domain-specific apprenticeship opportunities.
  2. The Centre on Tuesday announced that the PM CARES for Children Scheme has been extended till February 28, 2022. The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development said that all eligible children can be registered for the scheme till the extended date to avail its benefits.

Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a post-budget meeting with heads of Banks, Non-Banking Financial Institutions and Financial Institutions in Mumbai. The meeting deliberated on the various budget announcements in the context of PM Gati Shakti, Defence, Telecom, Manufacturing and exports, Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) and tax concessions to new manufacturing units and start-ups.

Romanian Defence Minister Vasile Dîncu on Tuesday said that Romania is preparing to receive up to 5 lakh potential refugees from Ukraine in case of a Russian invasion. “There is a plan prepared for all large cities, there are areas for this near the borders,” he added. This comes after Russia recognised two breakaway Ukrainian regions as independent.
  2. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday asked the upper house of parliament for permission to use Russia’s armed forces abroad. Members then voted unanimously to allow Putin to use military force outside Russia. Russian troops were earlier moved into the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that broke away from Ukraine in 2014.

This comes after 12 people were injured in a similar attack by Houthis at Abha International Airport less than two weeks ago.

Octane rating or number is the standard measure of performance of the gasoline. The higher the octane rating the more compression the gasoline withstands before detonating. It is the measure of the fuels ability to resist pinging or knocking during combustion before the air-fuel mix detonates in the engine.

Gasoline is dyed for various purposes. Red gasoline is meant for off-road vehicles, blue gas is for aviation and race cars. Regular unleaded gasoline is greenish-blue in color. Midgrade gasoline is yellowish to transparent. High octane gasoline is pinkish.
