  1. A commander and associate member of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, Sheikh Sajad has been notified as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. Ministry of Home Affairs in a notification said, Sheikh Sajad has been actively radicalizing, motivating and recruiting youth of Jammu and Kashmir to support terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and has been involved in terror funding.
  2. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is on three-day visit to Hanoi, Vietnam.
  3. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed academic collaboration between the Indian and foreign colleges to offer three different types of degree programmes — dual, joint and twinning degree programmes — to students from India and abroad.
  4. Chennai-based Hawking Defence Services Pvt Ltd, a tech start-up operating in the unmanned systems, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Australian UAV Technologies to establish a joint venture (JV) company.
  5. Russia is seeking more medical equipment from India after sanctions and logistical logjams following President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine have sharply reduced imports from Europe and China.
