HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY 💐

  1. India’s COVID vaccination coverage has crossed 111 crore 95 lakh mark. Out of the total vaccination, more than 75 crore vaccine doses have been given as first dose while over 36 crore 94 lakh doses have been administered as second dose.
  2. PM Modi will be inaugurating Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor project in Varanasi on December 13, 2021.
  3. KASHI VISHWANATH TEMPLE CORRIDOR PROJECT : This project encapsulates the vision of Ahalya Bai Holkar, the Holkar queen of Indore. She created a series of temples and vistas that lead towards Ganga ghat. This project connects Kashi Vishwanath temple with the ghats of Holy Ganga. It comprises of a paved walkway of about 320 metres long and 20 metres wide. It also has facilities for a museum, library, a Mumuksha Bhawan (salvation house) and a facilitation centre for pilgrims. It’s a Rs 600 crore.
  4. The Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN Foundation) has announced the list of Scholars to be supported under Project Eklavya 2021. This year, the Foundation disbursed an amount of approximately Rs. 40 Lakhs to over 45 students from the country.
  5. International Trade Fair (IITF) will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from today (14 Nov). The fair will continue till the 27th of November. The fair held annually, which witnesses record footfall, was not held last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The theme of the fair is ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India). As many as nine foreign countries including Bangladesh, Bahrain, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Turkey, Sri Lanka and UAE are participating in the fair.
  6. The longest partial lunar eclipse in 580 years will occur on November 19 and will be visible from parts of Northeast India. The partial eclipse will start at 12.48 pm and end at 4.17 pm

  1. ASSAM : 46 militants of Dimasa National Liberation Army, DNLA have laid down their arms on Saturday at Dima Hasao district of Assam. Senior police officials including Special DGP Hiren Nath was present when the militants laid down their arms
  2. DELHI High Court has pulled up the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) over non-compliance of its orders for filing reply in a case relating to land allotment for the benefit of persons with disabilities.
  3. Delhi govt has announced that physical classes in all schools will be shut for a week in view of the air pollution. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stressed that it is paramount to protect children from breathing toxic air and thus education will continue virtually in all schools.
  4. KARNATAKA : the Pilot Training School in Jakkur will reopen as soon as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation gives its clearance for the new runway. State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr. Narayana Gowda informed that the renovation of the flying school is complete and ready for operation subject to clearance.
  5. KERALA High Court sanctioned the expeditious construction of a Bailey bridge over river Pampa in lieu of the fast-approaching Sabarimala Mandalam season.
  6. The Kerala government has made it clear that there is no law in force in the State which mandates that female lecturers in higher educational institutions have to wear saree to work.
  7. Heavy rains continue to lash the Southern and Central parts of Kerala, wreaking widespread damage in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts.
  8. LADAKH: Indian Army is organizing various events to groom the talent of the local youths in Kargil and continuing the spree of organising events. The Polo Competition hosted by 22 Gadwal Rifle of Drass Brigade started at Vishawanathan Polo Ground in old Drass.
  9. MAHARSHTRA: 26 Naxals killed in encounter in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli. C-60 Police Commando team conducted a search operation led by Additional Superintendent of Police Soumya Munde.
  10. Jalna-Nanded Expressway : The process of land acquisition for Jalna-Nanded Expressway connecting Mumbai-Nagpur Samrudhi Highway has started. About 2000 hectares of land will be acquired in Jalana, Mantha, and Partur talukas of Jalana district, Selu, Jintur, Parbhani, and Purna in Parbhani district and Nanded taluka of Nanded district for this 190 km long expressway with an estimated cost of Rs. 12,000 crores.
  11. MADHYA PRADESH: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan thanks PM Modi for renaming Bhopal’s Habibganj Railway Station after tribal queen Rani Kamlapati.
  12. PUNJAB : CM Charanjit Singh Channi, announced that Punjabi will now be a compulsory subject for all students in the state of Punjab. Punjabi language will be made compulsory from classes 1-10. If any school violates the norm, it will be fined up to Rs 2 lakh for violation. Apart from that, it will be made mandatory in offices as well.
  13. TAMIL NADU : The Tamil Nadu government has told the Supreme Court that “repeated assertion” by Kerala to seek decommissioning of the 126-year-old Mullaperiyar dam is “wholly impermissible” as the dam has been found to be hydrologically, structurally and seismically safe.

TRIPURA :PM Modi will transfer the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura today(14 Nov) at 1 P.M. via video conferencing. More than 700 crore rupees will be credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the occasion.
  15. WEST BENGAL : Ex-CM of Goa Luisinho Faleiro will contest the forthcoming Rajya Sabha election as the Trinamool Congress candidate from West Bengal. Polling for the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by Arpita Ghosh will take place on 29th of November.
  16. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday appointed Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra as the state in-charge of its Goa unit.
  17. Internet Service project, Starlink unveiled a new smaller and rectangular dish, which interested customers can buy to understand SpaceX’s growing satellite constellation in low Earth orbit. Starlink is the satellite internet project of SpaceX. It was launched with the aim of launching some 12,000 satellites into low Earth orbit to provide broadband internet coverage to people on ground. It will provide services notably in remote and rural areas that lacks traditional internet infrastructure.

  1. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has approached a Mumbai Court seeking permission to withdraw her criminal complaint against lyricist Javed Akhtar for extortion and refer the same to another competent Magistrate.

Ranaut had raised allegations against Akhtar of criminal conspiracy and outraging modesty by invading in her privacy through her criminal complaint. She sought issuance of process against Akhtar under Sections 383, 384, 387 (extortion), 503, 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (outraging modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

  1. 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be held from November 20 to November 28, 2021. IFFI will be hosted in Goa.

IFFI was founded in 1952. It is one of the most significant film festivals of Asia. The festival is held annually with the aim of providing a common platform for cinemas across the world to project excellence of film art. It contributes towards understanding & appreciation of film cultures of different nations with respect to their social and cultural ethos. It promotes friendship and cooperation among people worldwide.

The golden peacock award will be earmarked for best film at the IFFI. It comprises of a cash prize of Rs 40 lakh. Award will be shared equally by producer and director of the best film.

  1. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan on Friday evening appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the NCB which is probing the drugs-on-cruise case, and his statement was recorded. The SIT headed by NCB Deputy Director General Sanjay Kumar Singh.

  1. Five Assam Rifles’ personnel including a Commanding Officer martyred , two civilians killed in insurgent attack in Manipur; . A convoy led by the Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles was attacked by insurgents near Sehken village, around 60 kilometres from Churachandpur district headquarters on 13 Nov at 11 A.M. It is reported that the unidentified insurgents blasted IED and fired indiscriminately at the convoy party. No insurgent group has claimed the responsibility of the incident.
  2. Indian Army is set to conduct the sixth edition of the biennial training exercise with French Army from November 15, 2021, in series of joint training exercises with friendly nations.

Shakti 2021 will be conducted from November 15 to November 26 in Frejus, France. India has already conducted joint Naval exercises and Air Force exercises with France earlier in 2021.The Shakti 2021 exercise will focus on Counter Terrorism operations in light of semi-urban terrain under the mandate of United Nations. Indian Army is being represented by Gorkha Rifles contingent.

  1. The Indian and Thai navies on Friday began a three-day coordinated patrol in the Andaman Sea amid growing concern over China’s increasing maritime forays into the Indian Ocean region.
  2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated the first operationalised Private Sector Defence Manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow. The facility, run by Aerolloy Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC industries, will manufacture parts for Aircraft Engines, Helicopter Engines, Structural parts for aircrafts, Drones and UAV, Submarines, Ultra-Light Artillery Guns, Space Launch Vehicles and Strategy Systems.

It was also an outcome of a consultative process as the Reserve Bank of India, Finance Ministry and Home Ministry had done an elaborate exercise on it and consulted experts from across the country and the world.

  1. PM Modi met US Congressional delegation led by Senator John Cornyn in New Delhi on 13 Nov. John Cornyn is the co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Caucus on India and Indian Americans. During the meeting, the Congressional delegation noted the excellent management of COVID situation in India in spite of the challenges of large and diverse population.
  2. Uganda’s President Yoweri K. Museveni has pledged the country’s continued friendship with India, its people, and the Indian Community in Uganda. He said this in the meeting with India’s Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan on 12 Nov. During their meeting, the two countries agreed to a partnership to provide affordable solar power and promote rural power transmission in Uganda.
  3. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India next month for an annual summit is expected to coincide with the delivery of the first batch of S-400 air defence systems and will set the stage for the two sides renewing their military-technical cooperation for the next decade.
  4. PM Modi on Saturday met World Economic Forum’s President Børge Brende and said he had an “insightful interaction” with him on several subjects. “India is again the fastest growing of large economies,” Brende tweeted after the meeting.

  1. An explosion hit a mosque in the Spin Ghar district of Nangarhar province in eastern part of Afghanistan, wounding at least 12 people including the imam of the mosque. Previous attacks since the Taliban takeover have struck Shi’ite mosques and have been claimed by the Sunni terrorist group ISIS.
