  1. India administers 74 crore COVID vaccine doses; recovery rate stands at 97.51%
  2. Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel will be the next Chief Minister of Gujarat.
    Outgoing Chief Minister Vijay Rupani proposed the name of Bhupendra Patel in the legislature party meeting which was unanimously accepted.
  3. B R Patel had a meteoric rise in state politics, starting at the municipality level and on way to becoming the CM in his first term as an MLA. He contested his maiden Assembly election from Ghatlodia constituency in Ahmedabad in 2017 and won by over 1.17 lakh votes, the highest victory margin in the state during that election.
  4. The Swarnim Vijay Mashaal, touring the Country to mark 50 glorious years of victory over Pakistan during 1971 Indo-Pak War, arrived at Dahung. The Mashaal was received at Sessa, Arunachal Pradesh with full military honours.

  9. Centre decides to set up 7 new Ekalavya Vidyalayas in Assam. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs would also set up 400 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras to promote tribal art and craft as well as to provide livelihood opportunities to the tribal population.

Indian security forces to train in Taliban module : Border forces and armed police units deployed in the counter-terrorism grid have been directed by the central security establishment to prepare and administer a new training module on the Taliban and its modus operandi to the troops in view of the “emerging” scenario following the Islamic militia taking over Afghanistan.
  3. PM Modi described first 2+2 talks between India and Australia as very productive, and said this was a sign of growing strategic convergence between both countries. He also thanked his counterpart Scott Morrison for his focus on the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two counties.

  1. Taliban’s economy Minister meets Turkish envoy: Taliban’s Acting Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, met with the Turkish Ambassador in Kabul. Both sides emphasized strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, and training.
  2. The higher education minister in the new Taliban government says women can study in universities, including at post-graduate levels, but that classrooms will be gender-segregated with no-men classrooms and that Islamic dress is compulsory (to wear a hijab).

  6. Emma Raducanu has become the first British woman to win the title in 53 years. She beat Leylah Fernandez of Canada to win Women’s Singles title at US Open Tennis. Raducanu has also become the first British woman in 44 years to win a Grand Slam singles title.
  7. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth congratulated Raducanu on her success and said it is a testament to her hard work and dedication. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Raducanu showed extraordinary skill in the game.

On 12 Sep every year, the Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army observes Saragarhi Day to commemorate the martyrdom of 21 Sikh soldiers holed up at Fort Lockhart in 1897 in the village of Saragarhi located today in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region on the border with Afghanistan.

Led by Havildar Ishar Singh, they died fighting hordes of Afghan tribesmen, numbering between 12,000 and 24,000, inflicting serious casualties in the enemy camp. They may have been fighting for the British Raj, but their saga of bravery has inspired generations of Indian soldiers. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar-starrer “Kesari”, which was on the same theme.

Why Gold is used in Satilites

Gold is used on connectors and contacts because it has excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity (only copper and silver are better) and, alloyed with small amounts of nickel or cobalt, has good wear resistance.

Satellites are wrapped in the golden color foils to protect it and its component from the extreme environmental conditions of the space. Most of the components in a satellite which are mostly electronics has to be maintained within a certain range of temperature to keep it working, beyond which the equipment might fail. Likewise the propellants has to be stored at a particular temperature to avoid its freezing. So this Multilayer Layer Insulation (MLI) provides an enclosure to avoid heat exchange with the outer space which may be at 2.7 K (-270.45 degree C). You may require active heaters, coolers, Optical solar reflectors and radiators also to get the complete thermal control. MLI’s are basically kapton layer outside and Mylar layer inside. Outside layer is golden in color to provide high reflectivity against solar radiation. It blocks significant amount of the radiation loads on the parts where radiation loads are undesirable. Inside layer has very low emissivity to minimize the heat leak in any direction. Conduction is the dominant property inside the enclosure to spread heat over the structure.

How Is Iron Made?

Iron on Earth is made, or more properly extracted, from iron ore. The “rock” portion of iron ore contains oxygen, sands and clays in varying amounts depending on the type of ore.

Today, iron is made by heating hematite or magnetite in a blast furnace along with with a form of carbon called “coke” as well as calcium carbonate (CaCO3), better known as limestone. This yields a compound that contains about 3 percent carbon and other adulterants – not ideal in quality, but good enough to make steel. Every year, about 1.3 billion metric tons (roughly 1.43 billion U.S. tons, or nearly 3 trillion pounds) of crude steel are produced around the globe.

Iron has been known to humankind since about 3500 B.C., or over 5,500 years ago. Its name is derived from the Anglo-Saxon version, which was “iren.” The periodic table iron symbol Fe comes from0 the Latin word for iron, which is ferrum.

Then they all went to Bramha and Bramha told Saraswati to become a river. Saraswati agreed and left Brahmaloka and arrived at sage uttanka’s ashram. There she met Shiva. He gave the Vadavagni in a pot to Saraswati and told her to originate from Plaksha tree. Saraswati merged with the tree and transformed into a river. From there she flowed towards Pushkar
