  14. JHARKHAND : Three people were killed and several injured after some cable cars on a ropeway collided with one another at Trikut hills close to Baba Baidyanath Temple in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district on Monday. Two Mi-17 helicopters are involved in the rescue operations in Deoghar district.
  15. As per Jharkhand Tourism, the Trikut ropeway is India’s highest vertical ropeway with a maximum lens angle of 44 degrees. The ropeway, situated around 20 km from Baba Baidyanath Temple, is around 766 metres long, while the hill is 392 metres high.
  16. Rescue operations underway by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) with sister organisations at Trikut Ropeway, Deoghar.
  17. A man succumbed to his injuries following an incident of stone-pelting during a Ram Navami procession on Sunday evening in Hirhi village of Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district.

KARNATAKA : BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde wrote to Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai demanding an investigation into “possible links” between the student Muskan Khan and “unseen hands” behind the hijab row. He claimed that Muskan’s act of standing in defence of the hijab had become global news and that several Muslim organisations rewarded her, followed by praise from Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri.
  20. TELANGANA : A group of scientists from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, IICT, Hyderabad have designed a hybrid material which can absorb greenhouse gas methane and convert it to clean hydrogen.
  21. UTTAR PRADESH : BJP MLA from Sultanpur Vinod Singh, in a letter to UP CM Yogi Adityanath, said his constituency must be renamed as Kushbhawanpur. Sultanpur has many religious places which stress the belief that Kush, Lord Ram’s son, developed it as his capital and called it Kushbhawanpur.

  1. India successfully flight-tested Anti-Tank Guided Missile HELINA. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and the Indian Army for this achievement.
  2. A CH-47F (I) Chinook helicopter of the Indian Air Force on Monday set a record by flying the longest, non-stop chopper sortie in India, with the operation training task requiring it to fly from Chandigarh to Jorhat, flew a distance of 1,910 km in seven-and-a-half hours.
  3. Chinook is a multi role,vertical lift platform, used for transporting men and material. It also plays an important role in Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Operations.
  4. A phase-II flying training contract was signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Nigerian Army. .The agreement has been signed for imparting phase-II flying training on Chetak Helicopter for six officers of Nigerian Army Aviation.
  5. In J&K Terrorists had deliberately taken shelter in mosques and madrassas with the dual aim of avoiding detection and inciting religious sentiments by instigating the use of force or firing by security forces. Officials said.

He said, “India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror so that we can focus on our development challenges and ensure the well-being and prosperity of our people.” Sharif was elected as the PM after Imran Khan was removed through a no-confidence motion.

Newly-elected Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said, “I’ll advise (Indian) PM (Narendra) Modi to understand that there is poverty on both sides (of the border).” He called upon PM Modi to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir issue, adding, “Then let’s fight poverty together”. Good ties with India cannot happen without a peaceful resolution on Kashmir, he said.

Why Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place..?

On 13 April 1919, people gathered at Jallianwala Bagh (Amritsar) to protest against the arrest of the two nationalist leaders, Satya Pal and Dr Saifuddin Kitchlew. Suddenly, a British military officer, General Dyer, entered the park with his troops.

The demonstration was to demand the release of two popular leaders of the Indian Independence Movement, Satya Pal and Saifuddin Kitchlew, who had been earlier arrested by the government and moved to a secret location. Both were proponents of the Satyagraha movement led by Gandhi.
