2. Today The Delhi High Court directed Google to investigate into a complaint alleging that the use of a trademark and its variations as keywords on the search engine had resulted in the diversion of traffic from the owner’s website to that of the advertiser.
3. Today Advocate General (AG) of Punjab APS Deol said that Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu is obstructing the functioning of the Punjab government and there is a concerted effort by vested interests to malign the image of the Congress party in view of the upcoming elections in the State.
4. Today A Mumbai court refused the plea to extend the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in relation to the money laundering case against him.

6. Today Supreme Court Judge Justice DY Chandrachud opined that technology is capable of addressing certain issues which lead to delay in disposal of criminal cases, such as accused persons absconding or official witnesses absenting themselves.

Today the Delhi High Court has ordered that investigating officers probing offences committed by juveniles should obtain documents related to age proof and ensure that the ossification test for determination of age is done within 15 days from the date the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) issues such directions.

9. Today in the Gujarat High Court A petition has been filed before challenging the Constitutional validity of Section 413(2) of the Companies Act which lays down minimum age criterion of 50 years to be eligible for appointment as member of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
10. Today The Delhi High Court has dissolved marriage between a couple by decree of divorce on the ground of cruelty observing that the husband had viewed his wife as a cash cow on getting a job with Delhi Police without any emotional ties.
11. Today the Punjab and Haryana High Court has observed that photographing an elderly person in an injured condition without the turban and uploading it for public viewing on a social platform would prima facie amount to hurting the religious feelings, Stressing that turban is an essential religious symbol.
12. Today The Madras High Court has reiterated the principle that a reinstatement order won’t be valid if the employee is not reinstated back to his original place of employment.
13. Today The Telangana High Court has observed that the police officers have no power to detain or seize vehicles on the ground that the person driving was found in an intoxicated condition.
14. Today the Bombay High Court granted 50,000/- compensation to her noting that the state machinery had failed to trace her husband dealing with a Habeas corpus plea filed by a woman seeking the presence of her husband for the last 13 years.
15. The Karnataka High Court has issued a new standard operating procedure (SOP) which will be effective from Monday (November 8), wherein the hearing of all the cases will be by hybrid mode of both physical and online in both sessions, If the members of the Bar are requested to prefer online mode.
16. Today Former Delhi High Court Bar Association President Rajiv Khosla has been convicted by a Delhi court for assault of a woman lawyer in 1994.
17. Today the Kerala High Court pondered over the significance of judicial independence in a democratic set-up of while dismissing a couple of petitions alleging judicial misconduct.
18. Today The Madhya Pradesh High Court has sought response of the State Government in a public interest litigation seeking effective implementation of the Motor Vehicle laws in the State.
19. Today the Madras High Court has held while passing a summary judgement dismissing the money suit filed by Shriram EPC Ltd, Once a claim has been expressly rejected by the opposite party, further requests to reconsider the same by the other party will not stop the running of limitation.
20. Today The Karnataka High Court has directed the State government to make necessary changes/ corrections in the website https://kaverionline.karnataka.gov.in to enable uploading of registered sale deeds by the registering authorities even in the absence of ’11E’ sketch (Survey Sketch of land issued by the Survey Department) without insisting for production of the same.
