Today The Supreme Court held that ayurvedic doctors covered under AYUSH are also entitled to the benefit of enhanced superannuation age of 65 years (raised from 60 years), at par with allopathic doctors and that “both render service to patients and on this core aspect and there is nothing to distinguish them.” 
  2. Today The Calcutta High Court reserved its judgment in the case relating to post-poll violence that rocked the State of West Bengal after the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) party secured a thumping victory over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2021 Assembly elections to the State.

Today The Madras High Court stayed an office order issued by the Registrar General of the Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), which had stated that suo motu matters having pan-India or inter-state implications will henceforth be listed before the Principal Bench of at least three members.

  7. Today The Karnataka government told the Karnataka High Court that the State has decided to release an additional amount of Rs 4 crore as financial aid for lawyers to help them tide over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and financial difficulties due to the same.

  38. Yesterday The Gujarat High Court stayed an externment order passed against a man, the petitioner before the Court, taking into account the fact that the said order was passed right after an FIR was registered against him after he criticized a BJP MLA.
  39. Today the Rajasthan High Court has held that orders passed by Rent Tribunal are not amenable to the writ jurisdiction of the High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution, They can be challenged only by invoking the power of superintendence of the High Court under Article 227 of the Constitution.
  40. Today The Punjab and Haryana High Court has observed that if the person dying by suicide names some other person being responsible to force him/her such statement is required to be taken up with all the seriousness.
