  2. Today The Madras High Court quashed a 2017 defamation case filed against incumbent Telangana Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan over comments allegedly made by her against a political party in Tamil Nadu.
  3. Today the Delhi High Court hearing a plea filed by the Resident Doctors Association, AIIMS Rishikesh against Ramdev to restrain him from disseminating false statements and information about Patanjali’s Coronil tablets, Baba Ramdev encouraged the government’s COVID vaccination drive and had never stopped people from going to hospitals.
  4. Today The Supreme Court upheld a Gujarat High Court order which had rejected a plea by Adani Gas Limited seeking authorisation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) for establishing and operating city gas distribution (CGD) networks in Gujarat’s Sanand, Bavla and Dholka.
  5. Today The Supreme Court held that seniority benefit can accrue only after a person joins service and not retrospectively with respect to a period during which the concerned person was not in service.

  9. Today The Bombay High Court rejected the plea filed by Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor’s wife, Bindu Kapoor and daughters, Roshini and Radha Kapoor seeking bail in the corruption cases related to Dewan Housing Financial Limited (DHFL).

Today The Supreme Court issued notice to the Central government on a plea by West Bengal government challenging the Calcutta High Court decision to order a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into cases of murder and crimes against women that allegedly took place during post-poll violence in the State.

  14. Yesterday A Thane court in Mumbai issued show cause notice against Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar in a civil suit filed by RSS Activist over Akhtar’s alleged defamatory comment comparing RSS to the Taliban.
  15. Today The Kerala High Court dismissed two petitions which sought directions to the Karnataka government to open up the border shared by the States of Karnataka and Kerala and permit entry of vaccinated persons from Kerala who wish to travel to Karnataka.
  16. Today the Calcutta High Court rejected a plea challenging the decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prioritise the bye-elections to the constituency the Bhawanipur in West Bengal will be held on 30th September 30.
  17. Yesterday the Calcutta High quashed the allotment of a plot by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) to former cricketer and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly for the purpose of establishing an educational institution.
