  1. Today The Supreme Court directed the Central government to file an affidavit giving reasons why it has fixed an annual income limit of ₹8 lakh for availing reservation under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category for postgraduate medical seats through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
  2. Today the Supreme Court ruled that State investigating agency can probe into scheduled offences under the National Investigation Agency Act (NIA Act) including offences under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) till the NIA takes over the probe.
