- Today the Bombay High Court released the Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan in the cruise ship drug case, the Court speaking order to granting bail and said that there was no prima facie evidence against Aryan Khan and two other co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha for the offence of conspiracy under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). - Today Sameer Khan, son-in-law of Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the drugs case against him. (Sameer Khan v. Narcotics Control Bureau)
- Today A Mumbai Court granted the first bail in the case pertaining to the Antilia bomb scare case and the subsequent murder of businessman Mansukhlal Hiren.

- Today the Tripura High Court directed the State to either permit a petitioner to cut and sell trees growing on his land or compensate him for the same. (Tarun Baidya & ors v. State of Tripura)
- Today the Meghalaya High Court granted bail to a man accused of raping his mother, stating that when it comes to bail applications, it is well-settled that courts should resort to “bail and not jail”. (Pyrshangbor Myrthong vs. State of Meghalaya)
- Today the Telangana High Court has done away with the requirement to have certified order copies transmitted to prisons in bail cases, and directed that order copies downloaded from the High Court website shall suffice. (V. Bharath Kumar vs. The State of Telangana)
- The Kerala High Court and district courts in the State will resume physical hearing of cases from Monday.
- On Thursday the Supreme Court issued notice on a plea by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail granted by the Telangana High Court to former Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh M Gopal Reddy. (Directorate of Enforcement v. M. Gopal Reddy and Anr)
- Today Former Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Gita Mittal advocated for mediation, saying that even if parties are not able to resolve disputes through this method and continue with litigation, the tension in the courtroom thereafter was visibly reduced.
- Today the Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has paved the way for the establishment of a National Forensic Sciences University in the State by ratifying the recommendation of a sub-committee in this regard. (Bharat Jatav v. State of Madhya Pradesh)
- Today the Madhya Pradesh High Court (Gwalior Bench) denied bail to a man who has been accused of establishing a physical relationship with his ‘wife’ who was below the age of 18 at the time of the commission of the alleged offence and thereby booked for committing rape.
- Yesterday the Kerala High Court allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to be made party to a case before the Court concerning the fake antiques scam perpetrated by one Monson Mavunkal, who has now gained wide notoriety across the State. (Ajith EV v Commissioner of Police)
- Today the Punjab and Haryana High Court has made a significant order the filing of the declaration (by petitioners filing protection pleas) regarding the status of minor children from the first marriage, if any, details of the moveable, and immoveable property as well as income, as mandatory.
- Today in a Delhi Court had pulled up the Delhi Police officials for filing two distinct sets of chargesheets in a minor rape case, the Court has again rapped the police by observing that the investigation conducted so far in the matter is nothing but a mockery.
- Today Patiala House Court Delhi suspended for two days the 7 year jail term awarded to one of the convicts, Dinesh Chandra Sharma in connection with the Uphaar fire tragedy that happened in the year 1997.
- Today Rouse Avenue District Court Delhi has summoned four BJP leaders including its Delhi Unit President Adesh Gupta in a criminal defamation complaint filed by Delhi Jal Board and its Vice Chairman Raghav Chadha, the case pertains to allegations levelled against the Board over scam of Rs. 26,000 crores.
- Today the Madras High Court has come down heavily on the irregular parking before commercial establishments in GST Road, Chennai, and it has also made observations on the alleged complicity of traffic police in allowing such illegalities.

- Today the Delhi High Court has observed that randomness in fixation of a cut off age for availing the benefit of reservation for a particular category is not sufficient to characterize it as an arbitrary or unreasonable decision.
