- Today A Mumbai court has told the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that the permission to interrogate Kiran P Gosavi panch witness in the cruise ship drug case, will have to be obtained from the relevant court in Pune since Gosavi is in judicial custody of Pune court.
- Today The Delhi High Court has issued notices to Central government, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on a public interest litigation petition seeking unlimited number of attempts to appear in Civil Services Examination for candidates belonging to Persons with Disability (PWD) category. - Today The Supreme Court has issued notice in a plea seeking the option of virtual hearings for women lawyers during pregnancy, until they are capable of appearing in courts physically. (Esha Mazumdar v. Union of India)

- Today The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has notified that an amendment to its rules, enabling the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Secretaries in the Home and Defence departments and the Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) to get a tenure extension by 2 years.
- Today The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the appointment of one lawyer and one judicial officer as judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court are the lawyer recommended is Dr. K. Manmadha Rao and the judicial officer is Ms. B.S. Bhanumathi.
- Today The Supreme Court issued a contempt notice to the Director General of Police, Rajasthan for terming the 2017 death of a student from National Law University, Jodhpur as an “accident” after having informed the top court that it was a case of homicidal death. - Today The State president of the Vanniyar Sangam, Arulmozhi has issued a legal notice to the makers of movie ‘Jai Bhim’, actor Suriya and Amazon Prime Video alleging that the movie has portrayed the Vanniyar community in a defamatory manner with the intent to harm the reputation and goodwill of the community.
- Today Journalists Samriddhi Sakunia and Swarna Jha have been granted bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Gomati district who were detained by the Tripura Police for their reports on the recent communal violence in the State.

- Today Several members of the right-wing organizations vandalized and attempted to set fire to Congress leader and former Union law minister Salman Khurshid’s home in Nainital’s Ramgarh. While the police are yet to identify the miscreants, officials said that around 15-20 people were involved in the incident.

- Today the Delhi High Court granted custody of an infant to his biological father, who was earlier imprisoned on charges of raping the minor mother.
- Today the Kerala High Court said that Political parties and other organisations who have put up flag masts without authorisation at public places should voluntarily remove the same within ten days failing which penalties will be imposed. - Today A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the publication, circulation, sale and purchase of the new book of former Law Minister Salman Khurshid ‘Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times’, where he allegedly compares the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to ISIS and Boko Haram. - On Sunday the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has decided the 2022 edition of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be held on May 8, and the Consortium further decided to reduce the counselling fees from ₹50,000 to ₹30,000 for general category candidates and to ₹20,000 for reserved category candidates.
- Today A group of young lawyers have requested the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Chairperson of e-committee of Apex court, Justice DY Chandrachud to continue the system of virtual/ hybrid hearing of cases at the top court on all days including Wednesdays and Thursdays when only physical hearings are currently allowed.
